Grief is the most normal and natural response we experience when dealing with a life-limiting illness or the death of a loved one, yet it can be very difficult to bear.
Our highly trained grief counselors are available to help you understand your feelings and thoughts, and guide you through the process of coping with the death of a loved one. We offer a variety of counseling and support group options at multiple locations across San Diego County and Southwest Riverside County.
Our services are available to everyone in the community, including families who do not have an affiliation with The Elizabeth Hospice.
Grief support is available for individuals, couples, families and children.
Recognizing that everyone grieves in his or her own way, we offer a range of techniques and tools. These include experiential therapy (expressive art and play), traditional talk therapy, and support groups. We also specialize in treating people whose painful emotions are so long-lasting that they have trouble coping with the loss and resuming their own life.

Grief support groups provide an opportunity to learn from others who are grieving the death of a loved one. Led by professionally trained counselors and volunteer facilitators, groups are a safe, nonjudgmental place to find comfort and to learn coping skills.
The health, safety and well-being of our community are our highest priorities. To limit the spread of infection from Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are following the State of California Department of Public Health’s guidelines. We have temporarily suspended all grief support groups until restrictions are lifted.
We are exploring ways to conduct groups through an online platform. As soon as we have additional information, we will provide details.
