Pediatric and Perinatal Hospice Care
The Elizabeth Hospice gives comfort and strength to families of very sick children. We understand the overwhelming challenges faced with a seriously ill child, and work beside parents to ensure their child and the entire family has the support they need—so they can get back to living each day as fully as possible. Time is focused on the child’s world, not on their illness.
We know the importance of keeping established relationships, so our care is supplementary to your current care team. We work in concert with your child’s pediatrician and specialists, becoming an extension of their team to provide the additional services that allow families to focus on time together. We know there is no place your child would rather be than at home where they are surrounded by the people and things they love, and we work to help children remain at home as much as possible.
Additionally, we will work with your child’s school in order to help them maintain normalcy in their life. Our care follows your child wherever care is needed; so should a hospital visit become necessary, we’ll be there to ensure a continuum of care and our relationship with your child and family.
Our palliative care is available to any child facing a life-limiting illness, even those who are still receiving life-extending treatment.
Our Center for Compassionate Care provides special counseling and support to those who are experiencing the loss of a child. We help them adjust, begin to heal, and ultimately regain the ability to re-invest in life.
We understand each unique relationship and offer specific Group Sessions that harbor a supportive environment in which to share, listen, learn, and grieve. Available Groups Include perinatal loss, school-based grief groups, and loss of a child.
