While a cancer diagnosis can be a scary time for the patient, the impact on the patient’s children is often profound. Children can experience increased anxiety, emotional isolation, loss of social interest, and feelings of hopelessness. When A Family Member Has Cancer is a FREE, one-session support group for youth ages 9 to 13, facilitated by The Elizabeth Hospice. Children will learn healthy coping skills, increase their social network by connecting with other kids who have similar life experiences, and share their feelings, thoughts and emotions in a non-judgmental space. Saturday, June 1, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center, 41669 Winchester Rd., Suite 101, Temecula. Space is limited. RSVP by May 15 to michelle.brown@ehospice.org.
