Jan Jones, RN, BSN, FAAMA
President/Chief Executive Officer
Jan Jones took the helm of The Elizabeth Hospice effective 7/1/2012 after the retirement of long time CEO, Laura Miller.
With over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, Jan, a registered nurse, brings a strong background in management and growth of successful community-based hospice programs and services. Before joining us, Janet was the President and CEO of Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee for 13 years.
Jan is a well-recognized leader in the hospice and palliative care movement. She has held leadership positions at the national level with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and currently serves on the Board. She also serves as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the National Hospice Foundation. As an active participant at the state and national levels of hospice organizations and government arenas, she is well versed in the hospice and healthcare industry trends and regulations.
In Jan’s role as President and CEO, she oversees the workforce of more than 350 employees and 325 active volunteers. She is the liaison between the organization and the community and enjoys developing relationships with colleagues and residents of San Diego. With the
Board, Staff, and Community, Jan identifies unaddressed needs for those coping with serious illness and works toward solutions in meeting those needs.
